F.A.Q's
What is the age group in your daycare? Do you have any openings?
I care for children from newborn up to 3 years of age. Please contact for availability.
Do you schedule field trips/outings?
We play outside everyday (weather permitting), take frequent walks around the neighborhood and are just a short walk from a great park.
What is included in your fees?
Fees pay for quality childcare, healthy breakfast, lunch and snacks and a safe, fun, nurturing environment for your child. They pay for all supplies used by your child while in my care such as food, paper products, cleaning supplies, craft/art supplies, toys/equipment, repairs, wear and tear, gas, electric and more.
What do I need to supply?
You will need to supply a complete change of clothes, diapers, wipes, formula or breast milk and bottles. I may also ask for things like sunscreen, a jacket, a hat, etc. to be left here.
Where do the children nap?
Children/babies over the age of 6 months nap in a quiet bedroom, that is only used for the children's nap time, in their own designated crib or cot (for children over 2 years old). I use video monitors to supervise sleeping children at all times. Babies under 6 months old nap in the playroom in a pack-n-play or a bassinet.
Do you have an open door policy? Communication?
Parents are welcome anytime. Parents are also free to call, text or email to get updates on their child's day. Please note that while I try to keep the phone near me at all times, there are times when it is not possible for me to answer as the needs of the children are always my priority! In the event that I am not able to immediately take your call, please leave a message or text and I will respond back just as soon as possible. I also use an app to keep parents informed about their child's day (i.e. naps, feedings, activities, etc.) and to send photos/updates of your child throughout the day.
Do you have pets in the home?
Yes, we are a pet friendly home. We have 2 very sweet, friendly, non-shedding little dogs.. Both dogs are child friendly. They are kept out of the daycare space but will have occasional contact with the children. Of course, the dogs are always directly supervised when around the children . We also have a cat. Murray the cat is also really sweet and friendly but very lazy and rarely seen during the day :) He is kept out of daycare space and has no contact with the children.
Why should I choose a home daycare over a center?
A home daycare offers the comforts of home as well as a smaller group of children for more quality one on one time and the consistency of knowing the same person is caring for your child each day. Flexibility in schedules, exposure to fewer illnesses and lower cost of care are also benefits of a home-based child care.
Do I have to sign a contract?
Yes, a contract protects both you and I from any misunderstandings. To view my complete policy handbook, please contact me .
